We are all on a journey. Some are ahead, and some are behind.
What happens sometimes is that a person who is behind, the shaytan is telling him 'What's the hurry? Just relax here and enjoy. The people who are ahead are so uptight and strict and boring, you don't want to be with them anyways. And if you walk faster you might fall and then everyone will talk about you. Don't start running until you are strong enough to run without falling.'
And sometimes the person who is ahead, the shaytan is telling him 'Look at those people who are behind, you are much better than them. You are so ahead of them. You don't need to keep walking so fast you are good where you are. Why don't you take a break.'
But they both need to realize an important point: a person who is trailing behind could get inspired to walk faster and get ahead of the others. And a person who is ahead might suddenly get tired and fall behind the others.
Sometimes a person who is ahead tries to talk with someone who is behind to motivate them to walk faster. And as they are talking, they fall down. The one who is behind says, 'well since you fall down sometimes, then you are a fake. You can't tell me to walk faster when you yourself fall down sometimes. I don't want to be with you at all. And since you are talking to me then that means you are judging me so I don't want to be ahead.'
So what is the right way????
We all need to be more open minded and not judge each other AT ALL. It doesn't matter who is ahead or who is behind, but rather that we help each other and overlook each other's mistakes and weaknesses. I can walk faster when I am with a group of people rather than being alone. I can keep going when someone holds my hand.
If someone ahead made a mistake and fell, that doesn't give me an excuse to give up. Yes you might fall but you can just get up again and catch up. It's ok to fall sometimes. It's ok to slow down sometimes. You don't have to be perfect in order to walk faster. The people who are ahead are just like me but they have some knowledge that I don't have that motivates them to walk faster. They make mistakes sometimes but they are human like me. We are all still learning.
There is a long road ahead. But the destination is so grand. Let's learn about this beautiful place. Let's read the map on how to get there. Let's listen to other people's advise on how to understand the map and how they are walking so fast. Let's let others talk to us, hold our hands, and help us get up if we fall.
Yes it requires some effort. Yes we have to ignore the shaytan and not let him fog our path. Yes we will fall sometimes and it will hurt. Yes people might laugh at us. But we don't care about enjoying the journey because we are looking forward to enjoy the destination.
The journey is for a certain time. The destination is the eternal one.
